    1. 1. Or “how to do business in Latin America and not die trying” When in Rome, do as the Romans do
    2. 2. People from different places have different ways of doing business, which gives a great importance to the fact of doing things the way people are used to in the place where we are going. When in Rome, do as the Romans do

Can I sell products and services in Latin America? <ul><li>YES, but only if you have a guide with experience in subjects not traditional to the American entrepreneur, such as Networking, Venture Capitalists, Business Etiquette, etc. </li></ul><ul><li>If you have a guide who takes you by the hand, knows the market and knows what it takes, entering the Latin American market is not too expensive. </li></ul><ul><li>Nevertheless, if you try to do it “along the way” or “giving it your best shot”, you can spend outrageous amounts of money without obtaining the results you want. </li></ul>

What is the biggest drawback we might find trying to enter the Latin American Market? <ul><li>The biggest difficulty is not the exchange rate, its the cultural difference. </li></ul><ul><li>It is an enormous burden, very difficult to overcome if you don’t have someone on your team that knows both sides. </li></ul><ul><li>Unfortunately, and contrary to what we would like to think, it is us who should adapt to their way of doing business, and not the other way around. </li></ul>

Opportunities for Latin America - Pros <ul><li>Time zone difference is minimal. </li></ul><ul><li>Travel time between the main American cities and the main Latin American cities is always less than 11 hours, almost all of them non-stop. </li></ul><ul><li>Cultures have more similarities than differences, compared to other continents. </li></ul><ul><li>Telecommunications and teleprocessing capabilities of the region are acceptable. </li></ul><ul><li>The exchange rate powers the placement of products and services in the American Market. </li></ul>
