Sin called me oppressed and crushed; you came and ‘delivered me from captivity’ Luke 4; 18

Sin called me forgotten by God; ‘you carved my name in the palm of your hand’ Isaiah 49; 16

Sin called me unrighteous, ‘you made me the righteousness of god in Christ Jesus’ 2 Corinthians 5; 21

Sin made me sin conscious, you made me conscious of ‘the blood of Christ, which cleanses me of all sin’ 1 John 1; 7

Sin made me avoid God; you brought me into a relationship with him whereby I can call Him Abba father, Romans 8; 15

Sin made me a servant; you made me ‘a servant of righteousness’ Romans 6; 18

Sin made me hostile to God; you gave me a love that makes me ‘love Him with all my heart all my soul and my entire mind’ Matthew 22; 37

Sin made me sorrowful, you gave me joy unspeakable and full of glory, 1 Peter 1; 8

Sin offered me death as wages, you gave me ‘the Gift of God; eternal life through Jesus Christ my Lord’ Romans 6; 23

Sin ensnared me; ‘you made me free indeed’ John 8; 36

Sin had me in prison, you ‘opened the prison doors and set this captive free’ Acts 5; 19

Sin condemned me, you liberated me by ‘condemning sin in the flesh’ Romans 8; 3

Sin judged me guilty; your blood paid the ransom that sin demanded, 1 Timothy 2; 6

Sin sent a wolf in sheep’s clothing, you sent me ‘the good shepherd’ John 10; 11
