  • 1. DUTIES OF THE BASE PAO AND SUPERINTENDENT
  • 2. Base PA Superintendent
    • Office Management Functions
      • Provide PA/VI services according to local directives:
        • Set up and publish a priority system that considers urgency, mission impact, agencies supported, task complexity and turn-around times.
        • Wing Instruction(s)/ SOP
        • Customer Service Guide
        • Establish and ensure quality control standards are adhered to at all levels
      • Establish local policy and management controls for installation commander ’s approval to make sure personnel use Public Affairs resources most EFFECTIVELY and EFFICIENTLY to complete official work.
  • 3. Base PA Superintendent
      • Office Management Functions (Continued)
      • Establish local procedures to identify, gather, and disseminate PA materials/imagery that have significant value for:
        • The unit
        • News
        • Base history
        • Accessioning
      • PA works with representatives throughout the unit to identify possible significant material/imagery
      • Establish a work order tracking system
      • Review proposed host-tenant support agreements (HTSA) to make sure they correctly specify PA support & equipment.
  • 4. Base PA Superintendent
      • Office Management Functions (Continued)
      • Review questionable work orders to determine official use
      • Perform periodic work order audits
      • Provide alert photographic services supporting security forces, OSI, disaster preparedness or ground safety activities
  • 5. Base PA Superintendent
    • Resource Management
      • Actively promote cost effectiveness
      • Physical consolidation of PA activities for the base or installation
      • Coordinate PA equipment requests:
        • Acquisition - AF Form 3215, Information Technology/National Security System Requirement Document , from base and tenant non-VI activities when required by Allowance Standard (AS) 629.
        • Temporary hand receipt – AF Form 1297 for use of existing PA equipment
          • Self-help
  • 6. Base PA Superintendent
    • Training Management
      • Ensure training of PA personnel and tracking in TBA
        • AFSC skill level training
        • Ancillary training
        • Retraining
          • Interview candidates for retraining into the PA career field
          • Make recommendations based on technical or artistic ability, quality force criteria, personal presentation, and estimated probability of success
      • Processes an AF Form 1284, TRAINING QUALITY REPORT - for technical school graduates assigned to the PA office.
  • 7. Base PA Superintendent
    • Customer Service & Education
      • Ensure and promote user and customer familiarization training
        • Self-help equipment
        • Software
        • Programs (DAVIS, DAPS, DIMOC, Outsourcing, etc.)
    • Marketing & Consulting
      • Monitor and advise on all PA activities, resources, and equipment on the installation
      • Coordinate PA production needs by Air Force activities assigned to the host base
      • Approve installation level video productions
      • Establish procedures for reviewing purchase request for services that the PA office doesn't ’t offer
