Life in abundance prayer partners - triumph through trials

  1. 1. Triumph Through Trials file:///C|/[5/6/2014 8:38:59 AM] Thank you for praying alongside the LIA team and for carrying this burden with us. Triumph Through Trials "In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 1:6-7 Greetings Mission, This week, the struggles and triumphs of our LIA team in a few closed countries have been on my heart. As you may know, LIA operates in some places where Christians are unable to practice their faith freely and many believers live in fear of death or victimization. In spite of this, we've managed to connect with the underground Church and implement programs that bring restoration and hope to vulnerable communities throughout these regions.

Triumph Through Trials file:///C|/[5/6/2014 8:38:59 AM] Recently our staff has undergone various personal and professional trials, ranging from being required to relocate offices or operate within budget limitations, to more serious issues like persecution and being reported to government officials. In these times of uncertainty, however, God has proven His strength and faithfulness and we have been reassured through His provision and solutions. We give Him all the glory and praise! In one of those countries, we recently hosted two apostles from Ethiopia’s Full Gospel Church, who shared what God revealed to them, “that LIA will experience a divine lift and that mighty things will come to pass in the nation through LIA’s ministry. God says there is no need to be afraid of anything for He will take care of all our concerns.” In another country, where we know LIA is called for ministry, it has not been easy. We have known stories of brutal attacks, arrests and imprisonment. Those we have trained have fled and we had resigned to ministering to them in their exile. But last week marked a turning point I was not prepared for! I was visiting the people living as refugees to encourage them and pray, as usual, but this time I was greeted with hope. A few of them had returned from a visit to their home country to report that the brethren are ready for training and eager to be equipped to reach out to their own. There has been a gradual lifting of the oppression and they are thirsty, very thirsty, for the Word and teaching. They are inviting us to go and join in a time of prayer and equipping. We have to go! They say there has been increasing freedom and some people they know have been released from prison. Pray that we will respond and this may be the long-awaited moment for this country to turn around and welcome the Prince of Peace in their communities. We all were greatly encouraged and affirmed! Please thank God with us and join us in our faith to see this come to its fulfillment. We say YES to the Lord. I ask that you also join us in praying for continued growth and God's favor in the following ways: Pray that we will respond to believers' hunger to be trained in sharing Jesus with their communities and that we will get the funds needed to serve in this opportunity. Thank God for the recent renewal of the registration licenses by these countries. Pray for the growth of the underground Church to be an effective instrument for the Kingdom work and its expansion in these countries. And pray for protection of our current staff, that as they work in these sensitive areas, that God will preserve and hide them from the enemy’s sight. Pray for wisdom and favor as we run an orphans and vulnerable children project, that it may bear much fruit. We need people to join our program team that are bold to work in these severe environments. Pray that God will send them to us for the expansion of LIA's ministry.
