New recruits push up ‘Send 65’ totals
Posted: 19 Aug 2014 06:15 AM PDT
Thirteen new recruits were welcomed to the CMF team last week, inching the organization ever closer
to the goal of sending 65 new missionaries into cross-cultural ministry by the end of 2015, according
to Shannon Garcia, CMF’s Director of Mobilization.
“This brings our count to 28 new recruits since we initiated
the Send 65 campaign, ” said Shannon. “Ten recruits are committed to serving long-term, and three
will serve for one year. ”
This new group of 13 includes four married couples and five single adults. They come from California,
Washington, Colorado, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, Maryland, and Illinois and will serve in
England, Ivory Coast, Asia, Uruguay, and Kenya.
‘'‘They’ll be doing everything from campus ministry to medical and social work, from leadership
training to youth curriculum development, and from media work to project management, ” added
Debbie Palich, who works directly with new missionaries in the Partnerships division, also noted last
week that many missionaries recruited previously have completed their preparations and have
recently or will soon take off for their new adventures.
“We just sent off six missionaries recently, and two more leave next week, ” she said.
