• Field of View (FOV) To MEASURE FOV, 1. Set the microscope to a low, medium, or high magnification by rotating the nosepiece 2. Place a clear plastic ruler on the stage 3. Focus the ruler until you see the field of view 4. Measure the diameter of the filed of view in millimeters
• to CALCULATE Filed of View If you know the diameter of the FOV for low power lens, FOV of the higher power lenses can be calculated,Ratio of the Magnification: magnification of lower power lenshigher-power FOV = lower power FOV x magnification of higher power lens Practice Calculation • If the 10x low power FOV is 10mm, what is the 100x high power FOV? 10mm x (10/100) = 1 mm
