Each focuses on a different aspect of keeping school age students from dropping out and transforming schools each with different standards of operation. :CY: unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service, helping children stay in school and on track, and transforming schools and communities across the United States …giving them the skills and opportunities to change the world. TD: Talent Development is an established comprehensive secondary school reform model & technical assistance organization that supports SEAs/LEAs in meeting federal criteria for the transformation & turnaround approaches.CIS: network of passionate professionals working in public schools to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Three turnaround models that address keeping students in school and on track to graduation but when combined are able to address whole school needs, family and community engagement, intensive student services, mentoring and tutoring, and support of educational leadership curriculum enhancement and faculty professional growth. It goes without saying that there must be clear and concise guidelines in order to establish and maintain effective DN teams on three levels but what is most interesting and challenging is the establishment of cross organizational teaming. What does that look like, feel like, how do we grow it. We first must answer one large and important question before we can move on….The application is among one of 15 highest-rated applications in the Validation category of the i3 competition, which had more than 1,700 applicants. The priority area for the Diplomas Now application was “persistently low-performing schools.”
