Death by PowerPointJWPaul: I trust that there are much less people afraid of lions compared to people afraid of dull presentations in my audience. This is an assumption I am relying on and I am taking my chances here. I might as well be wrong.2 years ago

Death by PowerPointJWPaul: The lion is related to the world "wild" which seems perfectly on topic to me.2 years ago

Death by PowerPointWell, let’s ask ourselves how have we got PowerPoint in the first place? If the world was so perfect without it – why did PowerPoint emerged? If we look into the history we see that the ancestors of PowerPoint presentations were transparent slides projected by overhead projectors and the ancestors of them were... blackboard drawings! People got tired of drawing the same thing over and over again so they created slides which you can draw once and then project many times. It’s all about getting visual, presenting complexity in a non-complex way so it could fit into very limited (mostly due to neurological reasons) minds of people. Words are cool but hey, picture’s worth a thousand words.3 years ago

Death by PowerPointThank you all for your feedback! I’m really flattered by your requests for slidecast. I have some experience of podcasting and I know that it takes me about a day to make a record I’m ok with. Maybe I’m overly critical to myself, I don’t know. So when I have a day – I will do it. Just not right now. Thank you for your understanding.3 years ago
