It’s time to finally try and put things in perspective. Journalists don’t hate bloggers; bloggers don’t hate journalists. We’re all trying to navigate a confusing, changing world in which media are not as easily defined as they used to be. Let’s take a minute and see what journalists and bloggers have in common, what they can learn from each other, and how they can work together in order to serve an ever more discerning media consumer. In the end, much of it revolves around a degree of ‘professionalism’. The way in which we handle things, how we approach text and images, and how we view our readers: we should always make sure to take what we do seriously – even if we don’t take ourselves seriously that much.
