But seriously, top down method is the acquiring of really high PR links and pointingthem to your main index page. Essentially, since your home page links or points to the rest of your website, you areeffectively trying to boost the PR of your entire site this way. This method is difficult, because, for what its worth,getting high PR, relevant backlinks with decent anchor text is tough, REALLY TOUGH! Unless you buy the links,odds are, you wont be getting any, and when I say getting high PR links, I dont mean getting a link on an internalpage of a site whos HOMEPAGE has high PR. I am talking about a link on the actual high PR page itself. Seewhat I mean now?All Roads Lead To Rome. Now lets talk about an easier way...deep linking. This will have the same effect, butunlike the top down method, this is more of a bottom up method. As mentioned before, if you are fortunate enoughto get a high PR link pointing to your homepage, you will get a little light shining on your site, or, your site can beginglowing from the inside through deep links or contextual do-follow links pointing to your internal pages. Get enoughof these and some of your internal pages will move from PR NA to PR 0. If you see this, then we are makingprogress. What happens next? Well as the number of internal PR 0 pages increase, they will begin to lift the PR ofyour homepage onto their shoulders and VOILA, your site PR or index PR will begin to rise.Sure, this method will take some hard work. You may have to (GULP) write articles, but it is better to concentrateon effective and progressive SEO as opposed to expecting to "hit the jackpot" with a high PR link for free.
