  • The Land of Scenery Shook Relentlessly
  • The earth moved as never before…
  • TWO-THIRD of the total area of Pakistan is on fault lines thatcause tremor any time. The experts have expressed fears thatignoring the fault lines while making big structures in citiesmay cause huge loss to life and property.
  • Roads were ripped apart
  • Mother nature brought down everything
  • On October 8th 2005 a devastating earthquake hit thenorthern part of Pakistan. With the death toll aroundninety thousand. Currently 3 million people are stillhomeless.
  • There were over 50, 000 dead
  • There was no where to go
  • There was no shoulders to lean against
  • Many survived…but just barely
  • Faces were enough to tell the story
  • Even the clouds looked distant
  • People were still coming down from the mountains trying to findshelter and were suffering from trauma. Winter was on the wayand the need for shelter was urgent.
  • Some too alone to to share anything
  • Some too pained to cry
  • There were endless hands raised for help
  • Schools needbetter foundations
  • Most earthquake-related deaths are caused by the collapse ofstructures and the construction practices play atremendousroleinthedeathtollofanearthquake.Building practices can make all the difference in earthquakes,evenamoderaterupturebeneathacitywithstructuresunpreparedforshakingcanproducetensofthousandsofcasualties.
