About the Colorado River FoundationThe Colorado River Foundation, based in Austin, Texas, is the only nonprofit organizationdedicated solely to the conservation and protection of the Texas Colorado River. TheColorado River Foundation has been increasing community awareness of the ColoradoRiver’s environmental and economic importance since 1994. Patricia Mulroy General Manager g y Las Vegas Valley Water District Southern Nevada Water AuthorityPat Mulroy oversees the operations of the Las Vegas Valley Water District, which servesmore than 340,000 customers, and the Southern Nevada Water Authority, which isresponsible for acquiring, treating and delivering water to local agencies that collectivelyserve 2 million residents and nearly 40 million annual visitors. Mulroy joined the Districtmore than 20 years ago and began serving as its general manager in 1989. She was aprincipal architect of the Authority, which has served as a model for other Western wateragencies since its creation in 1991.As general manager of one of the country’s most progressive water agencies, Mulroy isexceptionally active in regional and national water issues. She serves as President of theAssociation of Metropolitan Water Agencies, and is on the Board of Trustees of theWater Research Foundation, the Board of Directors of the National Water ResourcesAssociation, and is a member of the American Water Works Association. Additionally,she was the original chairperson of the Western Urban Water Coalition and served onthe Colorado River Water Users Association’s board of directors.A resident of Southern Nevada for more than three decades, Mulroy is equally active inthe community. She currently chairs the University of Nevada, Las Vegas College ofSciences Advisory Board, and has served on the Nevada Public Radio Board ofDirectors. Mulroy is also actively involved with the Diocese of Las Vegas. Her honorsinclude National Jewish Medical and Research Center’s Humanitarian Award, theUniversity and Community College System of Nevada Board of Regents DistinguishedNevadan Award, and the Public Education Foundation’s Education Hero Award.Mulroy served as special assistant to the Clark County Manager and as Clark CountyJustice Court Administrator before joining the District. She and her husband, Robert,have two children. Mulroy’s recreational interests include skiing and reading.
