About CNSA and COSA CANCER NURSING SOCIETY AUSTRALIA (CNSA) 13th Winter Congress 29-31st July 2010 Hyatt Regency Hotel Perth The Cancer Nursing Society of Australia (CNSA) is a national cancer nursing body in Australia. CNSA aims to promote excellence in cancer care through the professional contributions of nurses. For further details about the conference, visit the CNSA website at: www.cnsa.org.au CLINICAL ONCOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF AUSTRALIA (COSA) 36th Annual Scientific Meeting 9-11 November 2010 Melbourne Convention Centre, Melbourne COSA is a multi-disciplinary society for health professionals working in cancer research or the treatment, rehabilitation or palliation of cancer patients. Formed in 1971, COSA conducts an annual scientific meeting, seminars and educational activities related to current cancer issues.   3. 3. Travel Grant Conditions 1. The travel grant includes return economy airfare, conference registration and daily allowance. 2. Applicants must be a member of Cancer Council Queensland Oncology Nurses Group. For further information about membership of the Oncology Nurses Group, visit our website: www.cancerqld.org.au/professionals.asp You can also contact your local Cancer Council Queensland office or the Community Services Professional Liaison Team, telephone (07) 3634 5248 or via email: healthpros@cancerqld.org.au for a membership form. 3. Two (2) only grants will be awarded: (i) Metropolitan travel grant – for nurses resident and/or working in the geographic areas covered by: Ipswich, Brisbane, Caboolture and Logan City Councils and Moreton and Pine Rivers Shires; and (ii) Non-metropolitan travel grant – for nurses resident and/or working in all other areas of Queensland. 4. Applicants should indicate funding or support received from other organisations to enable attendance at the conference. 5. Applications should be typed on the approved application form. Applications will be reviewed by the selection committee against the provided assessment criteria. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of selection as soon as possible after review. 8. The travel grants reflect Cancer Council Queensland’s (CCQ) commitment to health professional education in cancer care in Queensland. The grants are awarded with the expectation that the recipient will work with CCQ in the dissemination and sharing of the knowledge and skills gained through the travel and conference experience. Under receipt of this grant we ask that recipients commit to: • Providing documentation of daily allowance expenses to the value of the grant within 3 months of return.   4. 4. • Providing a written report to Cancer Council Queensland within six weeks of return. The report will remain the property of Cancer Council Queensland and may be published in part or full in relevant newsletters and publications. A copy of the report will be forwarded to the applicant’s regional Oncology Nurses Group. Report writing guidelines will be provided to assist with this process. • Working with CCQ to identify opportunities to disseminate the knowledge and skills gained through the experience. These opportunities could include:  Reporting back to the workplace thorough meetings, newsletter, report or presentation. This will be guided by your workplace policy, procedure and commitment to the study trip;  Providing a presentation at Cancer Council Queensland educational events including Oncology Nurses Group and Allied Health Professionals Oncology Group education forums and workshops; or  Submitting an abstract for oral or poster presentation at the annual Oncology Nurses Group conference.
