• Just an opening slide that suggests movement from an entangled to a solved puzzle

Making the point too that the session title is merely a hook and there’s much more to social media than Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+
 • This and the next slide provide an introductory example of contemporary efforts to utilise social media. The slides provide information about the NEP-HIS blog and its uses.

In January 2014, Bernardo Batiz-Lazo and Chris Colvin started an experiment involving the use of Web 2.0 tools and third year undergraduate students with the aim to incentivise active participation in academic exchange by reviewing recent additions to the broad literatures of business and economic history whilst following the same format as the NEP-HIS blog. • This and the next slide simply reinforce the size and complexity of the social media landscape that we are attempting to navigate beyond Twitter and blogs
 • everyone stand...

sit if...

hootesuite, blogging for class, vine etc.),

LinkedIn,

email
 • Introduces the framework that offers one guide to understanding and planning one’s presence on social media
 • The list of 15 minute presentations from the pairs
 • Throughout the research and writing period of Patrick’s journey of discovery on Mutiny and its Bounty, Patrick took advantage of the range of social media to engage colleagues in his search, to seek feedback on his ideas and to gather information from sources that he couldn’t physically access.
