    • Do they really affect productivity, communication in the work place, social engagement, and have an effect in education?
    • What is a “Smart Phone”?
      • a smartphone is a device that lets you make telephone calls, but also adds in features that you might find on a personal digital assistant or a computer,such as the ability to send and receive e-mail and edit Office documents etc…
      • To a larger extent believe
      • that smartphones have a
      • positive effect!
    • Statistics of Smart Phones
      • Nielsen[1]* reported that 31% of US mobile phone owners have a smart phone as of December 2010.
      • eMarketer[1]* predicts that smart phone ownership will reach 43% of the US mobile population by 2015!
      • Morgan Stanley Research[1]* estimates that sales of smart phones will exceed those of PCs in 2012.

      • increased efficiency
      • have free mobility, and you can do a host of other things aside from the normal functions eg. talk, text and email
      • You can browse the internet, use the GPS for driving directions, social network, shop.

    • Positive Impacts of Smart phones continued….
      • they have allowed students to research on assignments or exercises.
      • in terms of productivity,they save you lots of time since you can immediately check and delete emails and tasks while keeping you available 24/7.
      • Smartphones can run business applications eg.excel,powerpoint or word, unlike ordinary phones.
      • they increase communication between people.According to Ashton Blake, “Brought nations closer together”
      • HOWEVER , using smartphones can also have a negative impact:
      • Smartphones cause constant distractions.
      • They can also keep you from doing real work
    • Conclusion
      • I believe that smartphones have had a positive effect on productivity, communication in the work place, social engagement, and have an effect in education because communication has been improved.
