  3. 3. Population. It is the most populated and extensive city in California and the second one in The United States.Its commonly known as L. A., It has apopulation, calculated in 2009, of 3.792.621 and an area of 1.214,9 km ².
  4. 4. Climate. The city has a Mediterranean climate. Generally the climate is moderate and dry in every season,with 325 days of solar light a year. The breezes of the Pacific Ocean tend to give the areas on the coast in Los Angeles more fresh air in summerand moderated temperatures in winter, than those in the interior; in summer, there can be differences of temperature of 10 °C between some parts od Los Angeles and others.
  5. 5. Culture. Los Angeles holds several entertainment industries, such as the music, the cinema, television and art. The industry of the cinema isone of the most important in the city, specially in Hollywood. Several entities dedicated to the cinematography have their headquarters in Los Angeles, including the Academy of the Arts andthe Cinematographic Sciences of Hollywood and the American Film Institute.
