  3. 3. One Golden Rule & Professionalism  Having a Twitter account also means that you need to maintain professionalism....this holds true for all online tools. Employers are keeping track on employees and applicants through social media.  Do not tweet how much you hate your boss, company co-worker or that you are going to quit! It is totally natural to vent about your bad day at work, whether it was a co-worker or boss, or a customer or client....but it is NOT okay to tweet about it. The biggest reason is because even if you have a private profile, some friends that have a public account may RT (re-tweet) and the people you don't want seeing it will.  Take note of the golden rule....even if your profile is private, some of your friends profiles are not....all it takes is one RT from a friend with a public profile to get you fired! You can block someone from reading your tweets.....but the same rule applies, if your bad tweets are RT, then you are in trouble.  Even your profile is public and you block your boss, and think it's alright to talk bad about them, the company or anything else pertaining to work and you are safe....think again, because they can log out of their account and go directly to your profile and read away! They can view your tweets, who you are following, who's following you, favorite tweets, lists and your images that you post. Twitter: Leveraging Job-Search 2.0 Tools
  4. 4. How to use Twitter as a Job Search Tool  Use Twitter search - here you can look for jobs that are tweeted using keywords.  Connect with companies and jobs that you are interested in. Talk about your skills, or information that is relevant to your field.  You can share your resume on Twitter. There are many services that allow you to upload and tweet documents. TwitRes is one of these services, but the fascinating thing about this one is that you can track how many times your resume has been viewed. When posting your resume be sure not to share too much personal information such as house address, or phone number.
