• A next generation architecture should have a robust set of services, as well as open APIs to third party applications and business processes. In the user’s workspace should be a consistent set of services across multiple applications and devices. Cisco’s unique architecture is one that combines the best of web speed innovation with a robust foundation that delivers all the “ilities” that are required to run a business. This next generation UC architecture couples on-premises with on demand services in a framework which provides choice and flexibility. Because there are customer of different industries and sizes with different needs and drivers for implementation, this architecture offers choice and flexibility. Clearly, some functionality is best deployed on premise, near the point of experience, while other functionality can benefit from being centralized This model lets us deploy core real-time communications functionality as network services close to the point of experience be it on premise, at a service provider, or in a mobile operators NOC Application software that needs to move at Internet speed is optimally deployed in the SaaS cloud. This allows us to revise the software as often as necessary and get updates to all our customers instantly. The application software interacts with, or quarterbacks, the network services to provide the rich real-time experience of deployed IT software at the innovation rate of consumer internet software. Customers may choose the combination that is right for them. Only Cisco offers this choice and flexibility. Additionally, we will expose services through Web 2.0 or SOA APIs such as SOAP, REST, and AJAX at the presentation (API) layer so that customers can seamlessly integrate with Business Processes, applications such as Salesforce.com or Oracle, and customer/partner developed applications. At the user level, services will be made available through a series of thin clients, web clients, and a variety of devices—again so the experience is consistent.
• The reason Media Saturn chose Cisco TelePresence is because of the ability to scale like UC, roll out new units quickly and do multipoint meetings. Media-Saturn is leveraging the flexibility of CTS to conduct regional financial rollups, executive meetings, and customer briefs. Media Saturn's adoption for all employee groups will allow them to gain productivity in all levels of the business, thereby accelerating everyday business. Use in company expansion: MS is expanding at a fairly fast clip and will leverage TelePresence to give them an edge in construction negotiation, recruiting the right kind of talent for location directors. Being able to do this fast and effectively should have a very positive impact on the business: making decisions quickly delivering instant expertise for better decisions scaling executive time and productivity across multiple locations maintaining the same brand and corporate character that has been so successful for the company. Fundamentally the most important element of using TelePresence is the ability to roll out new stores faster, which means direct impact to the top line. ROI: the return on capital and operational expense will be paid by reduction in air travel alone. But they are counting on the business effect of TelePresence to change the way they do business and marginalize employee "down time".
