  • I know you came to see a demo of what we have to offer … but being the sales guy I want to briefly review who we are and what we’re offering. It’s my job with this short presentation to help you understand that the up-coming demonstration is only a touch of the wealth of features and functionality found with the tool !!!
  • This demo is brought to you by B*Smart Intelligent Solutions, Inc. Introduction to Doug Gourley and myself --- Doug wears 2 hats, Doug is an IFS Implementation Consultant specializing in Finance and Distribution but also works as a Business Intelligence Consultant. Doug is operating the Demonstration today … hard questions go to him!!! Steve (I’m) VP of Sales and Marketing for B*Smart Intelligent Solutions Our mission is a derivative of being an ERP implementation division of Software Works and finding that every ERP solution we implemented had reports- but they were never the right ones – they were not what each corporate user/manager needed! In many cases is was significant lacking !!! Our President, Doug Hansen, who was an IT Director for Suntory Water Group (the 2 nd largest water company in the world) was faced with this very problem with the ERP solution Software Works was implementing. At Suntory Water Group, there was NOT only a problem with the ERP solution reporting but data was in a multitude of application databases and there was no money for a lengthy data warehouse project.
  • Basic introduction to what we offer – we’ll review our business model and our keys to why we’re such a good fit for IFS customers Note at the end of the demonstration please share your Areas of Interest Upon request we can email any of this presentation to you for your review…
  • Just going to review the first few key points of why we’re successful in the ERP market space … Powered by Business Objects! What does that mean … and as well briefly see, BO is ranked #1 in the BI market segment of ad-hoc queries and reporting … which as you’ll see is our focus (at least as the first step to implementing BI). What makes us successful is that we’ve taken world-class software, spend several weeks packaging this solution for the IFS application (database) to expose IFS application data to end users using your business terminology, and we’ve mapped out to the BI tool where the data is and how it relates to other data items, such as invoice lines is child data to invoice header. Demo IFS QBI Package with Designer!!!
  • The presentation of data Queries and Reports is specified by the user and can be easily changed. Presentation format options include tables, cross-tabs, and graphs. Note any presentation format can be turned into another – great for copying a table format, pasting it, and then changing it to a graph … since I’m a chart/graphs kinda guy.
  • Quick peek at how easy the tool is and why they are industry’s BI selection of choice for ad-hoc query/reporting and analysis. Doug will show you in much more detail but 2 components are the keys Available data items from a user selected “Universe” is presented on the left for the user to drag/drop into the query panel Conditions of what data the user wants to select is specified as well in a condition panel
  • IDC ranks Business Objects as #1 in the End User Query and Reporting market segment of business intelligence – 3 year running! Gartner ways BusinessObjects is the “Recognized Leader in BI” !!!
  • Short list of customers that you might recognize!
  • What makes an ENTERPRISE Solution? Simple – the elimination of all data silos where each application can report on it’s data and only its data. Eliminating silos is what data marts/warehouses provide but at a high cost both for the implementation and on-going support and management. Business Objects solves this with LINKED QUERIES where data from multiple queries can be brought together dynamically (through the use of transparent data cubes)
  • Where’s your PAIN? Is it in Sales, Operations, Finance, Manufacturing, or somewhere else???
  • Doug Gourley … let’s get on with the demonstration !!!
