    this class really is the worst class ever.... its super hard plus i have a horrible teacher who’s more a kid than a teacher... essays ever weekend.... this is actually what im doing on SPRING BREAK!!!!     is ap world super hard?? Ive taken acc. history calsses and always gotten a’s, I didnt take ap us cuz it didnt fit in my sched and I needed a 0. . .so will world be hard?

  2. Six Themes of AP World History
    • Patterns and impacts of interaction among major societies: trade, war, diplomacy, and international organizations
    • The relationship of change and continuity across the world history periods covered in this course
    • Impact of technology and demography on people and the environment (population growth and decline, disease, manufacturing, migrations, agriculture, weaponry)
    • Systems of social structure and gender structure (comparing major features within and among societies and assessing change)
    • Cultural and intellectual developments and interactions among and within societies
    • Changes in functions and structures of states and in attitudes toward states and political identities (political culture), including the emergence of the nation-state (types of political organization)
  3. Time Periods 8000 B.C.E. – 600 C.E. 600 C.E. – 1450 1450 – 1750 1750 – 1914 1914 – Present * B.C.E. = Before Common Era. C.E. = Common Era. * B.C.E. is the equivalent of B.C. and C.E. is the equivalent of A.D.
  4. What The Class is Like (Most likely)
    • Time-consuming, not too difficult. Time-consuming.
    • Class difficulty = 8/10
    • Most classes are harder than the actual Advanced Placement test.
    • Rewarding once completed.
  5. The Test
    • 75 multiple choice questions.
    • Compare and Contrast Essay
    • Change and Continuity-Over-Time Essay
    • Document-Based-Question Essay
    • 3,4, or 5 means college credit
    • 1 or 2 = Sorry, nothing.
  6. Compare and Contrast Essay
    • 5 Paragraphs
    • Compare and contrast something in history.
    • Analyze the similarities and differences of something.
  7. Change And Continuity-Over-Time Essay
    • 5 Paragraphs
    • Analyze something in history over a certain time period.
    • Changes and continuities.
    • Explain why it changed/continued.
  8. Document-Based-Question Essay
    • 5 Paragraphs
    • Use a number of documents to write an essay on a topic.
    • Use each document.
    • Analyze them and connect them back to the topic.
  9. Things to consider... - Class is not that hard. - Stay on top of things. - It's just a class. - The test is just a test.
  10. Future...
    • Prepares you for more AP courses.
    • Get ahead before college even starts.
    • Great experience.
