The festival, is not only just about remarkable films, it’s a wholesome package of
sheer entertainment and fun. The festival schedule this year is packed with a special
focus on children’s films and the revival of the Gujarati Film Industry. The festival will
also assist in raising awareness on the AIDS issue with a special category under we
care HIV+. Guests, jury members and film folks will have ample time to relax and soak
into the unique culture of Ahmedabad with a specially designed Heritage Walk and the
launch of a coffee table book on Ahmedabad.

FulMarxx Integrated Filmed Entertainment Company began as a one-man one-room set up at the Mudra
Institute of Communications Ahmedabad (MICA) Entrepreneurship Development Center, with a dream to
tap the short films market in India. For a long time, the short film format has been ignored and often

numerous filmmakers who indulge in the medium for the love of it, FulMarxx realised that the short film
format provided for a very different form for storytelling. The FulMarxx Short Fest 2008 did just that,
facilitating an audience for short films while at the same time acknowledging and awarding upcoming
Indian and global talent in storytelling. The FulMarxx dream went international in the first year itself with
an overwhelming 63 entries from 18 countries, setting a trend of its kind in India. With rave reviews and
appreciation pouring from all corners of the media FulMarxx got widely acknowledged and lauded. The
enthused team drew inspiration from their laurels and aspired to scale greater peaks. Within a year, the
FulMarxx Shorts Fest transformed into the Ahmedabad International Film Festival 2009 - to be held in the
city in the end of June.
