  2. 2. Brought To You By http://teambuildingactivitieshq.comWorking with teenagers is different than working with any other group. This is a group of people who are trying to find a way in the world. Theyare coming out of childhood, yet are not quite in adulthood. This canbring on a whole set of challenges that will make a team leaders job alittle harder. But the reward is large. If you can train teenagers to leadand work together as a team you can do so with anyone. Teenagerswho work in team building events and activities will grow to be morewell rounded and compassionate than teens who do not take part. The thing to remember about team building exercises for teenagers isyou need to make them enjoy what they are doing. When they loseinterest in something it is very hard to get interest back, the best planfor working with teenagers is to come up with a great plan of attack.Team building is just what every teen needs in order to grow into a welladjusted adult. Below are some examples of team building exercisesteens will enjoy:The party: Teens write their strengths on small slips of paper, put theminto balloons, and blow up the balloons. One by one the balloons arepopped to reveal what each person brings to the party. As the grouplearns about the unique talents each person has to offer, theinformation is transferred onto a large white banner so people can seeall of their strengths together. The Party is a fun, low-risk icebreakerthat helps set the tone for positive team dynamics. Its also a goodactivity to use if a group has been working together for some time andneeds a refresher on what people can contribute and how the groupcan work well together. The simplicity of this activity allows it to beAll Rights Reserved © 2011 Team Building Activities HQ http://teambuildingactivitieshq.com

The leader, who doesnt have a chair, calls out a quality using a formatted statement. All participants whopossess this quality must get up from their chairs and find a differentchair to sit in. The leader will find a chair to sit in during this exchange.Instead of losing their place in the group, the person who doesnt get achair becomes the next group, leader and determines the next qualityto be discovered. This simple exercise is a fun way to discover eachother without putting anybody on the spot. With an open time frame, itcan be used as a short activity or it can be used as a lead-in to a morein-depth discovery exercise. There are quite a few more great team building activities for teens, asthis is a great age to start working on team building skills. Creating ahealthy teen is very important in creating a healthy adult in the future. All Rights Reserved © 2011 Team Building Activities HQ http://teambuildingactivitieshq.com
