But can make team building activities a little moredifficult. The planning of politically correct team building activities willtake a few more minutes, but will make sure that everyone is happywith the results. The truth is most team building activities are politicallycorrect; they are games meant to bond and unite people, rather thencause conflict. There are some things that you need to be aware ofwhen you are making an effort to provide such team building activities.Great ways to make sure you are team building the right wayMakes sure nobody is offended: When anyone gets offended, it isdefeating the purpose of the game. These games were meant to createteam unity not division. It is best to stick with non confrontationalgames that use basic wording and very little stereotypes.Stereotypes: Although most people are not offended by these, somepeople may be. Make the extra effort to not use the misconceptionswhen you are team building, as some people could be offended.Segregation: When you are creating teams and groups do not chooseobvious groupings. Pairing cultures together or religions on one team, will lead to conflict and issues. This is not only not politically correct, but is demeaning to those involved. Try to choose groups who do notoften work together, and groups who may have trust issues. All Rights Reserved © 2011 Team Building Activities HQ

This is done in order to recognize peoplecelebrating other holidays, which do not include Christmas. When youhave a party around the holidays, perhaps you should ask your staffwhether or not a “Santa” or tree is acceptable.Including religion: Never do group activities that use religion. This is atopic that can easily be taken the wrong way. Instead base your gamesand activities on neutral points. The same goes for the discussion ofpolitics, this is best done off of work hours.Politically correct team building ideas really are easy to find. As mostteam building activities are not meant to be intrusive about privatedetails. These activities are also made to create an oneness with thegroup, rather than divide. A good way to insure that the activities andgames you are providing for your staff or co workers are politicallycorrect is to not touch on any subject that may be “iffy”. If somethinghas the potential to cause discord or distrust, do not use it in yourpractices.A team building activity is great ways to help your team better knowone another, but should not be used to prove a point or exercise abelief. All Rights Reserved © 2011 Team Building Activities HQ
