Adults usually team build in a company, which has over head and a budget for such things, children often learnto team build in schools or group activities. This means the leaderneeds to get creative when planning for team building events. Teambuilding can be free and fun for everyone, when the right planning andattention has gone into the event. In order to provide free team building activities for kids, you will haveto have to do a little research. Outdoor activities are always free, andkids love it. The outdoors can host a large amount of team buildingactivities and it does not have to cost a cent. Below are some of thebest ways to plan a free team building event for children.3 team building activitiesGetting close: Participants stand in a circle shoulder to shoulder, thefacilitator starts with the round balloon under his neck OR the oblongballoon between his knees OR the hula hoop around his waist (or allthree!). Without breaking the chain or un-holding hands, the roundballoon gets passed from chin to chin OR the oblong balloon fromknees to knees OR the hula hoop from waist to waist (or all three!).Mine field: minefield without stepping on and/or touching any “mines”.Begin by placing tennis balls (or paper plates) all over the ground. Thesetennis balls will represent mines. Next, instruct your group to get intopairs (if group is uneven number, participants can be switched toensure everyone has a chance to participate). One member of each pairAll Rights Reserved © 2011 Team Building Activities HQ http://teambuildingactivitieshq.com

The other member of each pair will begiving directions to their partner. The only directions that can be givenare left, right, forward, and back. If a mine is touched, the pair muststart over. Several pairs will be going through the minefield at the sametime so it is vital that blindfolded members listen carefully to theirpartner.Relay: Relay races are free and fun to play. Break the students intogroups of 2 or 3, each group will compete to win. This builds strongpartnership bonds and helps the children communicate. If you seecertain children who have issues with one another, or trust issues.Perhaps you should pair them together. This will allow them to seeeach other in a new light, and perhaps create a friendship.Team building was never meant to be a costly thing to do. It is all abouta team of people working together to improve on skills and habits. When children join in on free team building activities for kids, it canhelp them learn not only about others, but themselves as well.
