I miss the wit and writing if Kurt Vonnegut. The writing started with Player Piano and brought us classics like Slaughterhouse Five, Cat's Cradle, and Breakfast of Champions. You gotta love Vonnegut who is as close as modern times gets to Mark Twain. When asked how he was doing at the start of a 2003 interview, he replied: "I'm mad about being old and I'm mad about being American. Apart from that, OK.." And of Bush and John Kerry, he said that "no matter which one wins, we will have a Skull and Bones President at a time when entire vertebrate species, because of how we have poisoned the topsoil, the waters and the atmosphere, are becoming, hey presto, nothing but skulls and bones." The last thing Vonnegut wrote was a speech. It ends with this: "I thank you for your attention, and I'm outta here." And so it goes... less
