    • Native Americans of the Plains Alex Branton Ryan Dominic
    • The plains Indians lived in the middle of the United States were a lot of buffalo were.
      • The main meat of the plains was the bison which is another word for buffalo.
      • Liver, kidneys, marrow and nose were eaten fresh which means they ate it uncooked.
      • Sausages were made from strips of meat and fat seasoned with wild onions and herbs.
      • They lived in teepees ( tipis) made from wood poles and buffalo hides.
    • The teepees were made of brain tanned buffalo skin .
    • The plains people dressed in clothes made from the hide of animals .
      • The girls wore ceremonial dresses.
      • They used many natural resources. Trees were used to make poles for the teepees.
      • Buffalo was used for food , clothing , and shelter. They did not waste any part of the buffalo .
    • Dried sage was used for flavoring food and moss was used for tea.
      • Women owned and built the teepees.
      • The women could take down a tipi in minutes .
      • Men hunted bison and fought in battles too .
