  • 3. Visuals and the lyrics
    In the lesson today we will be focusing on the connection drawn by Goodwin, between the lyrics of the song and what we see on screen.
    By the end of the lesson you will understand the links he suggests between lyrics and visuals
  • 4. What do you mean?
    Visuals
    = what we see on screen
    Lyrics
    = the words of the song
  • 5. Task- the lyrics
    Listen to the following song without seeing the video
    Using the lyrics complete the following task:
    Task
    Draw a brief storyboard or write a brief description about what you think you would be seeing on screen.

    There may be three types of links between lyrics and visuals.

    Goodwin suggests that there is a relationship between visuals and the lyrics
    The relationships may be:
    Illustrative Images are used to represent the lyrics and genre, perhaps like a metaphor
    For example the film we saw before would be an example of illustrative.
