European Commission Enterprise and Industry The e-Skills Week is an initiative of the European Commission European e-Skills Week 2012

Building on past success
European e-Skills Week 2010 focused on raising the awareness of need for digital skills for jobs in a digital society
65 million European citizens across 35 countries and involved 284 stakeholders including 42 at pan-European level.
In 2012 DIGITALEUROPE and European Schoolnet will again deliver a European e-Skills Week campaign on behalf of the EC- DG Enterprise and Industry, to highlight the demand for citizens to engage in e-Skills for jobs and for life.

Objectives
e-Skills are essential for professionals working in small to medium size enterprises, for young people looking to enter the workforce and for corporations who need highly-skilled talent.
Focus: raise awareness of education, training, jobs, and opportunities that can be accessed through the acquisition of e-Skills.
Industry, including major IT industry partners such as Microsoft, education & public authorities will deliver a diverse programme of events and activities for people at all levels of education and skills.
