  1. 1. ABOUT GOW 2014 Digital empowerment campaign organized by Telecentre Europe between 24-30 March 2014 This was the 5th annual European Get Online Week (GOW) since 2010 Aimed to raise awareness amongst the young and unemployed on the e-skills needed for the 21st century workplace
  2. 2. OUTCOMES GOW 2014 103,789 Europeans involved • 53,466 trained • 50,323 attended events (e.g. seminars, workshops) 5,000 + events in 25 European countries 7,000,000 + Europeans reached
  3. 3. FROM START (2010) UNTIL NOW 150,000 Europeans Digital and social inclusion of first time internet users 700,000 plus Europeans Digital empowerment for employment and improved lives 10,000,000 plus Europeans Awareness raising on eSkills and telecentres
  4. 4. NATIONAL PARTNERS 2014 20 national partners involved almost 7,000 community telecentres in 20 countries 5 promotion partners in 5 countries

CAMPAIGN HIGHLIGHTS GOW 2014 • HP Life programme promoted by GOW partners HP Life will be piloted by telecentre networks with a focus on entrepreneurship. • Microsoft certifications offered to young people 3,000 young people received Microsoft donated certifications to improve their employability • ICT for entrepreneurs and social innovation Trainings, webinars, games and best practices for young entrepreneurs
  6. 6. GREECE HIGHLIGHTS GOW 2014 • National partner: Hellenic Professionals Informatics Society (HEPIS) • 5000 young people used GetBusy.gr platform, acquiring knowledge in the fields of Entrepreneurship, Digital Skills, Career Development and Corporate Social Responsibility

COUNTRY HIGHLIGHTS GOW 2014 • 38,000 participants in GOW activities in Latvia • Spain reached 160,000 people on Twitter with GOW messages • Almost 1,000 events organized in Poland • Sweden breaks record on previous GOWs with almost 5,000 people involved • Croatia launches European coalition for media jobs in digital industry • YouRock employability platform launched in Germany • More than 1,000 Romanians used Skillage to assess their eSkills for jobs

CONNECTIONS GOW 2014  eSkills for Jobs • GOW embedded in the eSkills for Jobs • Special events for youth (unemployed and job seekers)  Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs • 8 Local Coalitions involved promoting the GC • 4 GC pledges promoted within the campaign (Microsoft, HP, Liberty Global, YouRock)
  9. 9. SUPPORTERS OF GOW 2014 Liberty Global • Launch of YouRock • Infographic on ICT jobs and skills Microsoft • eSkills training and certification • YouthSpark connecting youth and ICT Telecentre.org Foundation • Co-organize a successful GOW campaign in Africa (MENA)
