    • Knowledge Based Economy Project ( KEP ) is a strategic pioneering project for the Romanian knowledge society, the most extensive IT&C based project for rural Romania. It assures IT infrastructure and value added services based on it (trainings, assistance and counseling, etc.)

    • A unique initiative in Romania, www.ecomunitate.ro is the most complex content site founded by the Government. The portal was launched in 2009 as the main communication tool for the Project.

    Which are the achievements of KEP that lead to Digital Agenda for Europe 2020? Digital Single Market Trust and Security Interoperability and Standards Very Fast Internet Enhancing e-Skills Research and Innovation IT&C for Social Challenges www.ecomunitate.ro , a virtual platform based on IT&C infrastructure that offers Interoperability to more than 2.5 mil users. 9.000 users – The registration process that is required for interacting on ecomunitate.ro platform offers Trust and Security to the every digital information user. IT&C i nfrastruct ure for all 255 k-deprived communities – Very Fast Internet for fast access to information. Three waves of sociological Research - strong pillars for identifying Innovative solutions for bridging the digital divide. Trainings, seminars, webinaries - 5225 citizens gained Digital Competences and e-Skills through national professional certification.     • 255 KEP communities developed a sustainability plan for their Local Community electronic Network, from which 26 are exit plans.
    Empowering vulnerable communities for intelligent sustainability. In the process of evaluating these plans, we identified 4 strategic lines that makes Telecenters innovative enough to generate their own digital content: Centers of Assistance & Research in professional training and Job application. Tourist Points based on digital media content of rural attractions. Curriculums for increasing the efficiency of IT&C services at local administrative level.     • Policy for introducing IT&C in pre-universitary education.
    • Technical Assistance Project for IT&C use in schools and libraries.
    Alignment with European educational policies through IT&C solutions. Expected r e sults : - National Guide for integrating IT&C in schools ; - National Guide for teaching, using IT&C; - Cultural partnership projects between 30 local libraries.
