What is ? <ul><li>Twitter is a website which offers a social networking and microblogging service, enabling its users to send and read messages called tweets. </li></ul><ul><li>Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the user's profile page. </li></ul><ul><li>Tweets are publicly visible by default </li></ul><ul><li>Users subscribe to other users' tweets – this is known as following and subscribers are known as followers or tweeps (Twitter + peeps). </li></ul>

What is in? <ul><li>LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking site. </li></ul><ul><li>It is mainly used for professional networking Connecting with old class mates, business associates and industry groups. </li></ul><ul><li>It is the Rotary club, the Association group, the Professional group on the internet. </li></ul><ul><li>Example: Linkedin.com </li></ul>

  23. 23. <ul><li>More than 500 million active users </li></ul><ul><li>50% of active users log on to Facebook in any given day. </li></ul><ul><li>Average user has 130 friends. </li></ul><ul><li>People spend over 700 billion minutes per month on Facebook. </li></ul>
