Concrete paint is easy to apply and looks great, butit has a short lifespan. For interior applications, youcan get 5-10 years out of a good paint, and forexterior applications, 1-2 years. If and when wateror moisture becomes an issue, the paint will start tobubble, flake, and peel. Some paints, like epoxies,will trap the water beneath the surface, causing theconcrete to crack and spall before seeing any signson the surface. If you plan on using a concretepaint, whether an acrylic, latex, or epoxy, it isimportant to first seal your concrete with apenetrating sealer.

Water plus cement produces Calcium Silicate Hydrate (C-S-H) in aprocess known as Hydration.
