Freedom My Natural hair Journey Month 4 and counting!!!!
My hair was very thin with a lot of breakage. At this point the front of my hair was breaking off and my hair color was green due to bleaching my hair and later adding a black rinse. I put heat to my hair on the regular and it was far from being healthy…
Sept ’09 Major breakage…My hair was very damaged
… so I began rock to sew-ins, quick weave and sometimes ill just glue in pieces to my scalp, failing to realize what I was doing to my hair…I didn’t care because the weave covered all the breakage and unhealthy hair.
Undecided about going natural and the big chop I continued to wear weaves however I did avoid relaxing my hair…. Feb 2010 Looking great for CIAA WKND!!!
...I feared I wouldn’t be accepted with the natural look, and I wouldn’t stand out with natural hairstyles such as afros etc., it was so hard to build the confidence to walk away from my security blanket which were relaxers and weaves….
However I realized this is my life, I’m a beautiful woman in and out…I AM NOT MY HAIR!!!!!! This is my life and whoever doesn’t like my hairstyle could kiss my monkey!!!! Plus going natural was very cost-efficient

One month before the BC ,I was very nervous and anxious, meanwhile I was rocking micros and they were a mess these braids ripped my edges out…no more micros for me ughhhh!!!!

May 2010

The Big Chop June “10 I still had perm in the front of my hair and two bald spots on the sides of my head due to the micros lol!!!! however I rocked my twa with the up most confidence….
I slowly began to fall in love with my hair, it was still the beginning so I couldn’t quite figure out how to wear it and what products to use. Within weeks I began to learn my hair, I spent plenty of time in the mirror trying to figure out the stlyes to wear and how to rock it…

I began to get bored with my twa, my hair was too short to braid so I decided to change my hair color and I experimented with my first twist out and I loved it!!!!!!!

July ’10: One month Natural

August 2010: 2 nd Month

Rocking the single goddess braid and a twist out in the back, I also like the double goddess braid.

I received major compliments on my hair, I actually have a white guy, a co-worker who loves my hair he loves to caress my afro for some weird reason. And of course their were negative comments but I stay confident.., I love my natural hair so did my friends and family and that’s all that matters to me.

My hair grows super fast with the help of shea butter, virgin oil and water!!!! My products of choice are Organix shea butter shampoo and conditioner, Cantu leave in conditioner with Shea butter and I do a hot oil treatment with virgin oil and Queen Helene hot oil treatment once every two weeks!
Month 3: August ’10 FroHawk with dry twist out in middle
Sept. 28, 2010 Happy Bday to me The Left side and the back of my hair is braided up and the front and right side of my hair was a dry twist out

Month 4: Oct ’10

4 day old wet twist out with leopard print flower on the side that I purchased @ h&m.

I so love my hair and I am so proud of myself for walking away from the relaxers and weaves…its hard to transition but my hair is so healthy. My hair is soft, it never sheds and always shiny and my scalp is never dry...

Going natural is my life long commitment that I am very enthusiastic about and it’s a life changing experience…I now use natural oils for my skin and the foods I eat are natural and healthier….Stay Tuned More to Come!!!!

Toodles!!!!!
