  8. 8. Phase 1<br />A Monarch butterfly lays an egg.<br />They lay the egg on a leaf.<br />The egg is the size of a period.<br />
  9. 9. Phase 2<br />Larva/caterpillar <br />1 month from egg to larva<br />Eat a lot of the leaf<br />Grow very quickly<br />
  10. 10. Phase 3<br />Cocoon<br />Hangs from a leaf<br />Soon it will become a butterfly! <br />
  11. 11. Phase 4<br />The butterfly is finally free!<br />2-5 weeks till they lay an egg<br />Then the cycle starts all over!<br />
