  • 2. Care From Experts For Newborn Baby Health A newborn baby is delicate and needs the utmost care in the beginning of its life. All hospitals have a separate department for newborn babies, because newborn baby health is a subject of its own. Once the baby is born and severed from the mother, it is totally exposed to all the harmful elements present in the air and therefore handling of the newborn baby is important too.
  • 3. Baby’s Room In order to maintain newborn baby health, the babies are kept separated from the mother on a regular basis. At feeding times it is taken to the mother, but otherwise it is kept in the special ‘Baby’s Room” in the hospital, where all newborn babies are kept. At this place, there is continuous vigilance and the nurses attend to the baby 24 hours, which may not be possible if it stays with the mother.
  • 4. Why A Newborn Baby Is Kept Separated From The Mother There are two major reasons why a newborn baby is kept separated from the mother at the initial stage. The reasons are mainly associated to newborn baby health. The first reason is the fatigue of the mother, which she experiences after labor. The exhaustion, excitement and strain demands rest at the initial stage for the mother and she may not be able to attend to the baby all the time.
  • 5. Visitors In A Hospital Secondly, there are visitors in a hospital, especially the family members, and there is a possibility that any infection could affect the newborn baby health. Nevertheless, if it has been a normal delivery for the mother and the baby is healthy, the father and family members are definitely allowed to handle the baby with care. After all, the touch factor showing love and affection is important for the development of the baby.
  • 6. Precautions It is necessary for all family members who touch the baby to have clean hands and also be taught how to hold the baby when taking it in their arms. The head needs support and smaller children, like siblings, who want to have a go at carrying their newborn brother or sister, should just be helped by the parents while holding it.
  • 7. Professional Nurses In a hospital or a nursing home, the baby is completely looked after by professional nurses, and the baby health products used like soap, cream and oils are also reliable ones. But the mother has to be careful when using any baby health products for it may affect newborn baby health. The skin of the baby is extremely delicate and hence it is important to use products which are certified by doctors or are well-known and familiar to all.
  • 8. Holds Good For Clothes And Diapers This care also holds good for clothes and diapers which are used for the newborn baby. At home, even the washing powder used for the washing machine should not cause an allergy for the baby and affect the newborn baby health.
