Taiwan ….. a long experience in producing ICT products <ul><li>Starting from mid 80s, </li></ul><ul><li>electronic &amp; computer boards manufacturers play an important role in the significant grow of the Taiwan economy </li></ul><ul><li>(known as the Asian Tiger) </li></ul><ul><li>The world, including Indonesia can learn from the Taiwan experience </li></ul>
  • 3. a consistent &amp; continuous development ……….., Taiwan is now producing well known ICT products such as ACER, Asus, D-Link, BenQ etc. <ul><li>These products are well known in Indonesia and are rapidly becoming a global brand, able to compete internationally. </li></ul>
  • 4. on the other hand ….. Indonesia, a widespread archipelago with a large population has become a fast growing market for ICT products since early 90s <ul><li>A continuous campaign for using ICT was introduced nationwide, to bridge the digital gap. </li></ul>
  • 5. ICT experts in Indonesia, triggered by the domestic need have developed a number of ICT products, software for banks, SMEs, up to the design of wimax processor chip <ul><li>Besides the widely use of ICT products, there is a grow in local expertise &amp; local assembly lines </li></ul>
  • 6. Can we promote a mutual benefit synergy between the two ? <ul><li>Combining the excellent manufacturing capabilities in Taiwan together with the creative application development capabilities in Indonesia can be a starting point to develop future products </li></ul><ul><li>Building a competitive synergy in facilitating the creative industry </li></ul>
  • 7. The market opportunity is widely open ……. <ul><li>There will be more and more products that will follow the ‘black berry’ experience (products in the digital culture) </li></ul><ul><li>Bundling hardware, software, content and application </li></ul><ul><li>local communities in many countries have their own creative application &amp; priorities in entering the digital culture </li></ul><ul><li>The digital culture will differ from one nation to the other </li></ul>
  • 8. Transforming into the future digital culture means exploring new ideas <ul><li>Integrating features for specific applications </li></ul><ul><li>Developing lap-top (or even a camera) bundled with specific services or contents </li></ul><ul><li>Developing hand-held reporting tools </li></ul><ul><li>etc. </li></ul>
  • 9. Hope this event will bring us closer.. <ul><li>Building a competitive synergy in facilitating the upcoming digital culture. </li></ul>thank you ….
