Food and predator Eats other sharks, rays, salmon, crabs, lobsters, octopus, squid, and perch. Loves stingrays. Only predator: humans.
Distinguishing Features Is gray-brown to bronze; paler underside. Small jagged teeth; triangular upper row; lower more pointed. Scallop-edged “hammer” Is 10 to 12 feet long.
Interesting Facts Their nostrils are by their eyes, one on each side. The hammerhead shark can sense electrical shocks gave off by prey. Since hammerheads have one eye on each side of their head, they have better vision. They use their odly shaped head to trap prey.
