mission to empower Koreatown’s low-wage
immigrant workers and to develop a
progressive constituency and leadership in the
Koreatown community that can struggle in
solidarity with other underrepresented
communities in and beyond Koreatown.
KIWA’S EXISTING MEDIA
includes website (news; info; photo + video gallery; calendar of events; forum) + unpublished video content
WHAT KIWA IS
LOOKING FOR
*to be able to produce and broadcast own media
*to engage people interested in their campaigns—
interested volunteers + supporters who already
visit their website seeking more involvement and
contribution opportunities
*to create an outlet for discussion around their
current campaigns and events
*to provide a means for people to share and
contribute to what is happening
*to provide a means for people to register for
opportunities online
WHERE WE COME IN

THE PROJECT
part1 blog set-up + training
part2 video production + training
objective to develop a blog for video and text
content that will help connect current members of
KIWA with insiders and outsiders who are interested
in the organization’s campaigns and projects

*community members involved with KIWA
—primarily Koreans + Hispanics
—workers + residents of Koreatown
—age range between 18-50, concentrated in 20-30

*install Wordpress to subdirectory

*train KIWA members how to use Wordpress
