  • 1. RWANDA GENECIDE … the downfall to perfection
  • 2. - The European colonist caused genocide, they lead the Hutu to thinking the Tutsi were to the reason to all there problems. A utopia can easy turn into a dystopia
  • 3. OVER 800,000 PEOPLE WERE KILLED
  • 4. They used acid to torture and kill them.
  • 5. They also used machetes to brutally slaughter, or they beat them to death.
  • 6. Genocide caused by discrimination what has our word come to? It is estimated that 150,000-250,000 woman were also raped during the genocide of 1994.
  • 7. Often these people were friends, students or family members….
  • 8. Only some , paid for their crime
  • 9. So many people dying The world wondering how A hundred days Lives gone in a blaze Clinton covering his eyes What a surprise My last lifeline As I lay here dying Military men pillage All through my village All the atrocities I flee, I flee I run despite my aching knees Out of this hell Cast under Satan's spell By: anonymous
  • 10. Is this a perfect world to you?......
  • 11. Questions:
    • 1. Many pictures were taken during this time in history. Is the photographer a victim, perpetrator or bystander?
    • 2. If another genocide were to happen, do you think the world would respond differently this time?
    • 3. Some Hutu claimed that they performed the genocide “as a act of self defence” Do you believe that there is such thing as genocide in self defence?
    • 4. Does the Rwanda Genocide and Hitler’s Holocaust relate to each other? Did they have the same mind set? How are the different how are they the same, explain?
    • 5. Is it realistic to think that all genocides can be prevented or suppressed?
