It also shows how to integrate Swipp widgets into Wordpress, Blogger and other common blog and content management systems.

  • 2. Your first visit to My DashboardOnce you’ve created your Swipp Plus account and logged in at http://plus.swipp.com, you’ll see yourdashboard. It will be blank until you track a topic. 2
  • 3. Tracking your first topicYour dashboard is the central location to track all the Swipp topics about your brand or industry. Typethe name of the topic you want to track and click the plus sign to add it to your dashboard. Type a topic into the Press the plus sign “Track a topic” box to add that topic to your dashboard bacon bacon +3 +5 310 The topic and its associated Swipp information will appear in your dashboard 3
  • 4. Creating a widgetHovering over a topic and clicking “create widget” in the control panel will take you to the screen whereyou can create a widget for inclusion in your blog or web site. Select horizontal or vertical orientation for the widget Upload a square photo to use as a thumbnail image Click “create widget” Copy the widget code to the clipboard, then paste it into your site 4

  • 6. A very active dashboard Clicking any topic name in this column will bring up a detailed data viewer for that topic 6
  • 7. Analyzing topics in the Data Viewer Each topic in your dashboard can be analyzed in the data viewer, giving you insight into what the world thinks about that specific topic. You can explore topic information by region, gender, demographic and time dimensions, as well as see verbatim information from comments. Select region, time- Global Swipp frame or gender - statistics click “results” to refresh page Zoomable map Swipp stream with verbatim comments Swipp volume andaverage score over time Number of swipps by swipp value Swipp average by gender 7
  • 8. Deleting topics from the DashboardDeleting a topic will remove the topic from your dashboard. Note that topics live forever in the Swippecosystem, this delete action only removes it from your dashboard. The swipps and global swipp dataare not deleted. If you want to delete a topic from the control panel, click the trash can that pops up when you hover over a topic row. 8
  • 9. Widgets in the Wordpress sidebarPutting a widget in the sidebar of a Wordpress blog is very straightforward. From your Wordpressadmin page, go to Appearance > Widgets, and place a Text widget in your sidebar. Then, paste thewidget code into the body of that Text widget and click “Save.” 9
  • 10. Putting widgets into Wordpress postsPutting a widget in a Wordpress post is straightforward, with one catch...you need to be in “Text”mode for this to work. While editing your post in “Text” mode, paste the widget code directly intothe body of your post and hit “Save.” NOTE: Wordpress automatically strips any widget code from a post if you switch from “Text” to “Visual” mode. This is a Wordpress “feature,” and not a Swipp constraint. 10

Putting widgets in the Blogger sidebar Putting a widget in your Blogger sidebar requires adding an HTML/JavaScript gadget to your sidebar in the Layout editor, and then pasting the widget code into the “content” area of the gadget. After placing the gadget in your sidebar, edit the gadget and paste the widget codeClick “Layout” into content areaChoose HTMLgadget 11
  • 12. Putting widgets in Blogger postsPutting a widget in a Blogger post is crazy-simple. Just paste the widget code into the body of yourpost in “HTML” mode and save the post. 12
  • 13. Other websites and platformsWidgets can be placed into nearly any type of website, from blogging platforms to contentmanagement systems to hand-crafted sites.
