  • 1. Ever Wonder How the Mind/Body Connection Actually Works? This presentation is for educational purposes only 11/22/2009 1
  • 2. Let’s Start with  Physical Anatomy • The function of physical anatomy is straight forward. Its only  job is to perform physical functions to keep our body  operating. EX: The heart’s function is to pump blood, the stomach’s  function is to receive and digest food, the function of the  throat (esophagus) brings food to the stomach and the larynx  (voice box) allows us to speak.  Then why... 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 2
  • 3. …do we have these  common experiences? Broken Heart Frog in the Throat with loss of love1 with fear like public speaking3 Butterflies in the Stomach with stress/anxiety2 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 3
  • 4. Phantom Limb Syndrome Occurs when an amputee feels pain or  sensation in an non‐existent limb  or body part EXPERIMENT: I placed a coffee cup in front of John and asked him to grab it [with his phantom limb]. Just as  he said he was reaching out, I yanked the cup away. "Ow!" he yelled. "Don't do that!" "What's the matter?" "Don't do that", he repeated. "I had just got my fingers around the cup handle when you  pulled it. That really hurts!" Hold on a minute. I wrench a real cup from phantom fingers and the person yells, ouch! The  fingers were illusory, but the pain was real ‐ indeed, so intense that I dared not repeat the  experiment.   Phantoms in the Brain, Ramachandran & Blakeslee, 1998 (pg 43) 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 4
  • 5. These experiences are explained  by human energy anatomy.  Even though the physical arm of the amputee is  removed, the energetic arm still exists.  We actually feel pain and pleasure in the energy  system not the physical body which accounts for  phantom limb syndrome. Ever sense there is “more” to who you are?... 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 5
  • 6. Human Energy Anatomy Basics • Along with physical anatomy we have energy  anatomy. It vibrates at a very high frequency beyond  what we can perceive with our physical senses.  • Our energy anatomy interpenetrates our physical  body. It influences our physical health and contains  and processes our emotions and thoughts.  • Our energy anatomy bridges our personality (body,  emotions and mind) with our Soul and Spirit (which  exist as energy with consciousness) You are constructed like a computer… 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 6
  • 7. This diagram is an analogy of how we are constructed energetically depicting our physical, emotional, mental energy “bodies” and our spiritual connections. Ever feel someone walk up behind you but you didn’t hear them? They entered “the field “ of your energy system which allowed you to sense their presence. 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 7
  • 8. Our energy anatomy is an intricate system of energy “bodies”, pathways and centers that flow and distribute vital life force. The next 2 diagrams show the location of the major centers of the energy system… 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 8
  • 9. Traditional Eastern philosophy teaches 7 major centers. International expert Master Del Pe reveals 12 major centers for the personality existing on physical, emotional and mental levels. 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 9
  • 10. Our Common Experiences Broken Heart is experienced through  the  Heart energy center. Butterflies in the Stomach is  experienced through the Solar  Plexus energy center. Frog in the Throat is experienced  through the Throat energy center. There are common symbols in society that reference our energy anatomy… 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 10
  • 11. The Caduceus In Eastern philosophy the caduceus actually symbolizes the flow of energy in the Central Axis of the body known as the sushumna. The 2 serpents each flow a unique energy: masculine energy (Pingala) and feminine energy (Ida). The wings symbolize enlightenment or unification of the Soul and personality. 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 11
  • 12. Religious Symbols 1 2 3 The “halo”, depicted across religions, is an energy center at the back of the head called the Alta Major that develops as a person gets to higher stages of spiritual development. The sacred heart depicted on the picture of Jesus is a symbol of the heart energy center critical to higher emotions, forgiveness and discernment. Placing the hands at the heart opens the heart center and helps flow energy along with activating spiritual center for divine light. Each picture depicts hand and finger positions, called mudras, that direct energy flow. 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 12
  • 13. Technology is catching up in  measuring human energy… • Kirlian photography captures lower more physical  frequencies of the energy system yet misses  capturing the emotional, mental and spiritual  frequencies. • In India, in 1998, I met Dr. Konstantin Korotkov, a  Russian scientist, who mapped data taken from a  kirlian camera to a software program that analyzes  energy levels to determine health issues. This  technology is a forerunner for what is to come. 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 13

  • 16. Biology is catching up… • Bruce Lipton, PhD and author of Biology of Belief, conducted 30 years of  cell research. He determined that the cell membrane contains proteins  whose function is to receive information (biological and energetic) and  send it to the cell nucleus where proteins controlling DNA use the  information to turn DNA on or off.  • This research supports energy medicine giving a scientific basis for the  impact of thoughts, feelings and subtle energy on health.  The emerging  field of Epigenetics combines quantum physics and biology to study the  deeper realms of energy in biology. 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 16
  • 17. Bruce Lipton, PhD Biology of Belief “Genes are not destiny! Environmental influences, including nutrition, stress and emotions, can modify those genes, without changing their basic blueprint” (p. 67) 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 17
  • 18. James L. Oschman, PhD Energy Medicine:  The Scientific Basis “The science of vibrations applies to all clinical methods.….vibrational therapies are not magic or superstition: they are based on biology, chemistry, and physics.” pg 121 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 18
  • 19. Master Del Pe, Modern Sage Inner Powers to Maximize Your Performance “Have you ever stopped to wonder where power really comes from, why some people have it and others don’t, and whether events of world history are perhaps shaped by power most people are unaware of?” (Introduction) Hidden Dangers of Meditation and Yoga: Play with Your Sacred Fires Safely “In my constant international travels and weekly spiritual mentoring, I have noticed tremendous demand for newer methods to understand and experience life’s purpose – internally. Modern professionals are constantly seeking more robust strategies to grow faster and be ahead while maintaining balance, and the number of people, including youth, who are seeking practical ways to experience their spirituality …is growing exponentially”. • 20. Summary of Mind/Body Connection • The “mind/body connection” occurs through energy anatomy that interfaces physical, emotional, mental and spiritual functions. • Science is now defining how thoughts, emotions and subtle energy impact health. • This paradigm demystifies how we are constructed as a human being giving definition to our non-physical and spiritual existence and experiences. • Techniques that work with energy anatomy give people direct access to their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dimensions. Why is this important? … 11/22/2009 This presentation is for educational purposes only 20
