    • Scott VeatchProduct Portfolio
Here is a sample of the products I have worked closely on as a Software Engineer.
    • ChangeVue Primary Display
ChangeVue is a version control application for Windows. As part of the ChangeVue development team, I was responsible for the design and implementation of the user interface.
    • ChangeVue Search for Checked Out Files
ChangeVue can display a list of all files checked out by all users. The list is grouped by user, and project, which allows you to controls which files are displayed on screen. In the screen shot above, the list of files checked out by Alex has been collapsed to see more of the files checked out by Scott.
    • ChangeVue Project Compare
This report displays the status of each file in the currently selected project. The file could be checked out, missing from version control, missing from the local hard disk, or some combination of the first three.
    • ChangeVue Move File Dialog Box
This is one of ChangeVue’s dialog boxes. The code used to populate and display the tree control in the dialog box was shared with the code used to display the tree control in the left-hand pane of the main application.
    • ChangeVue Getting Started Guide Step 1
When the user first launches the application, the user is prompted with instructions on how to start using the application. These instructions are not intrusive, and go away on their own if the user doesn’t follow them.
    • ChangeVue Getting Started Guide Step 2
Once step 1 has been completed, the instruction bar is automatically updated to display step 2.
    • ChangeVue Getting Started Guide Completed
Once step 1 & 2 are completed, the instruction bar disappears automatically.
    • PeoplePC Installer Intro Part 1
This is the initial screen of the PeoplePC Internet Connection Software installer. The installer was a VC++ application hosting an embedded web browser, which displays a web page playing a flash movie.
    • PeoplePC Installer Intro Part 2
The Flash movie includes the links for the volume, and skipping the intro. The Flash player can interact with the embedded web browser to control the volume and skip Intro link.
    • PeoplePC Installer Intro Part 3
Clicking on the Español link exchanges the English text with Spanish text.
    • PeoplePC Installer Part 1
As the files for the Internet Connection Software is installed, a Flash movie is played. The Flash movie, and the progress indicator is displayed by the installer internal web page.
    • PeoplePC Installer Part 2
The Installer component is multi-threaded to allow the web page and progress indicator to be updated while the install continues.
    • PeoplePC Installer Part 3
The flash movie displays all the different features of PeoplePC Internet Connection Software.
    • PeoplePC Installer Part 4
Once the complete list has been displayed, each individual item is further explained.
    • The Print Shop 15 Art Gallery
The Print Shop 15 included Art images on CDs, and more were available for download. The More Art & Photos tab hosted an embedded web browser that let user download art images, but with Print Shop 15 additional art images were available alongside the CD-based images. The only way to tell them apart was the “Available Online” text underneath the image name.
    • The Print Shop 15 Project Gallery is displaying project templates for creating your own banners. Some of the project templates are available on CD, but all of the banner templates displayed above are available online. When the user selects any of these project template, the necessary project information and any necessary fonts are downloaded.
    • The Print Shop Awards
Two version of The Print Shop I worked on received PC Magazine’s Editor’s Choice awards.
    • WOW Award
I personally received an award for my work on the company’s web site, and PrintMaster. My work for the company’s web site was quickly developing a client-side plug-in for Internet Explorer, and Netscape Navigator.
