  • 1. Home Remedies For An Ear Ache
  • 2. Ear infections are very painful for children. Many times parents feel unclear and stressed about what to do when their children are in pain. Many times antibiotics are prescribed. Research has shown that antibiotics do not help very much. Many times, the tubes that are surgically implanted, do not help much either. Children with frequent ear infections should be treated for the cause of the problem, not just the symptom. It is very fortunate for parents today that there are many kinds of alternative therapies are available for this.
  • 3. T here are many basic treatments for you to use to help your child overcome ear infections. You can try taking your child to a chiropractor to see if they possibly have a misalignment in the neck bones. Take your child off of all milk, onion, and cold drinks as these only worsen ear aches. Reduce or eliminate all refined sugars including corn syrup, sugar, corn sweeteners, brown sugar, turbinado sugar, honey, and any other sugars. These things weaken their immune system. Eliminate all trans fats and hydrogenated fats from the daily diet. Also, eliminate as many spicy and oily foods from their diet as they irritate ear aches and infections. However, you can introduce more green vegetables into their diet.
  • 4. There are many things that you can do to reduce ear infections. You can give your child vitamin C, zinc, Echinacea, garlic, and colostrums. Have your child wear a hat that covers their ears anytime that they are outside in cold or windy weather. Keep them away from alcohol and smoking. You can use homeopathic eardrops and warm compresses to soothe their ears. Make sure that their head stays out of water. You can also try having them chew softer nutritional foods or take small sips of warmed up vegetable soups.
  • 5. Where swimmer’s ear is concerned you may want to try a home remedy with the use of vinegar. Vinegar has many properties that effectively treat the fungus that is associated with it. This remedy is basic and simple to make. The formula is a ratio of 50% white vinegar mixed with 50% clean water. When this is made, you will put drops of the blended mix into the child’s ear. At this point, you will need to have them wiggle their ear to distribute the solution evenly.
  • 6. You can also use rice in a sock. This is also simple. You will put the rice into a sock, tie the sock, put the sock into the microwave for sixty seconds, and put the heated rice filled sock onto their ear. This has two purposes. First, it alleviates the source of pressure that is creating the pain. Second, it drains the built up fluid that is within the ear. For the best results you should repeat this process frequently.
  • 7. Often, natural sweet oil will help. Put a good amount of the sweet oil in the ear. You will need to make sure that the oil stays inside the ear. This can be done by putting a cotton ball inside the ear. The oil will help to alleviate the pain. For the best results, you should have the child lay down with the oil/cotton ball side up.
  • 8. When inflammation and fluid is stuck in the middle ear that fails to drain properly, aches and pains are common place. This puts pressure on the eardrum. The fluid has bacteria that grows and multiplies. When this is the problem, you should get colloidal silver. Colloidal silver is natural substance. This natural substance is said to ease the swelling and pain within an hour. The colloidal silver should be dropped into the ear. You should continue dropping the substance into the affected ear or ears for a time of five days. When you do this you should do it morning and night. Colloidal silver is a known natural antibiotic.
  • 9. Lemon juice is also a home remedy. First, you will need to put a towel around the ear, neck, and clothing of the child. The towel is used to keep the juice from getting into their hair and face. Second, you will put the lemon juice into the affected ear. This should be done with the child laying down or tilting their head. They should keep the lemon juice in their ear for several seconds. Finally, you will allow them to turn their head so that the juice can drain out. They can do this by rolling over or tilting their head the other way. This should be done so that the juice drains onto the towel.
