  • 3. People living with HIV receive primary care at home
  • 4. This family of six is among the many receiving Community Home Based Care (CHBC) service implemented by Save the Children’s Global Fund program in Nepal.Through the CHBC program, regular home visits by medical attendants have resulted in quality living for our beneficiaries.
  • 5. Community Care Centers provide quality care to people living with HIV
  • 6. Community Care Centers (CCC) provide essential health, referral and psychosocial to those who have started Anti Retroviral Therapy (ART)
  • 7. Right to heatlh
  • 8. Bisexuals, transgender, gays and lesbians are living a dignified life because of the primary care, social and legal support provided by the Blue Diamond Society (BDS) under the Global Fund program.
  • 9. Information is key to helping vulnerable people
  • 10. Counseling services are provided in all 19 Community Care Centers (CCC). Clients receive life saving information on HIV and AIDS,ART adherence, managememnt of opportunistic infections, essential refferals, prevention and care of SexuallyTransmitted Infections, safe sex and positive prevention.
  • 11. Testing for HIV save lives
  • 12. HIV testing is available throughout Nepal from 38Voluntary Counseling andTesting (VCT) centers managed by Save the Children.
  • 13. People who inject drugs are at great risk of contracting blood borne infections
  • 14. Save the Children provides clean needle and syringes to injecting drug users under its harm reduction program.
  • 15. People who once injected drugs are now taking methadone
  • 16. Methadone maintenance program is provided in six government hospitals, who work very closely with Social Support Units funded by the global fund to provide methadone to people who inject drugs.
  • 17. 6,557 injecting drug users now use clean needle and syringes and 879 are now taking methadone. 405 Female Sex Workers have received crisis response. 62,855 total population tested for HIV and counseled.
  • 18. 3,425 people living with HIV have recieved care and support services through Community Home Based Care. 122,140 male labor migrants have been reached through Behavioral Change Communication interventions. 16,314 men who have sex with men, male sex workers and transgenders have been reached through Behavioral Change Communication interventions.
