    • Extra curricular activities: debate, sports, music, social work clubs and societies etc.

    • Unlike academic degrees knowledge from ECA is not earned but learned.
    • ECA activities help build and foster qualities like TEAMWORK, SELF-AWARENESS, ADAPTABILITY, LEADERSHIP AND most importantly, it reveals an individuals drive to succeed and face challenges.
    • Eg. HR manger will get impressed by a candidate who has worked with an NGO or who has played football at national level.
    • Quallites in focus : 1 st case- socially active
    • 2 nd case- goal driven
  • The leading edge….
    • A candidate with genuine ECA experience is MULTI-DIMENSIONAL, PRACTICAL, and APPLICATION ORIENTED that helps him deal with CRISIS, IN A TACTFUL MANNER.
    • According to Ramanand Padiyar global head- HR Kale consultants ltd says,” a candidate having exposure to ECA indicates that he/she owns up RESPONSIBILITY, and is RATIONAL, and has handled CHALLENGING SITUATIONS. And, In an increasingly interdependent and TEAMWORKING environment these traits PLAY A MORE IMPORTANT ROLE THAN ACADEMICS OR FOR THAT MATTER, HIGHER IQ.
  • Does ECA guarantee good job???
    • Experts say it does not guarantee top positions, but preferences are given
    • These ECA activities set a candidate apart from his/her peers.
    • They play an important role in forming the initial impression of the candidate.
    • Hiring managers confirm that a good ECA background speaks volumes about a candidate’s personality which boring statistics otherwise, don’t.
