  • EXECUTIVE TRAINING FOR TALENTELLE LEADERS, 2 ND edition INFO: [email_address] SUBSCRIBE FOR FREE TO MY POWERFUL BLOGZINE: WWW.REALTIMESUCCESSSECRETS.BLOGSPOT.COM WWW.TALENTELLE.COM
    • A single idea of genius will make you richer and more powerful than a lifetime of meticulous office work.
    • Smart people are looking for their “single idea of genius.” Bookstores realize this, which is why many of them, such as Indigo Bookstores, now have a special section called “Ideas & Trends”
    • However, having a great idea is NOT enough.
    • First-time entrepreneurs often overestimate the value of an idea. They’re often afraid someone will steal their ideas.
    • AN IDEA IS ONLY A FOOTBALL. THE TOUGH PART HAS ALWAYS BEEN AND WILL ALWAYS BE HOW TO CARRY THAT FOOTBALL ACROSS THE FIELD TOWARD THE TOUCHDOWN ZONE.
    • This is why venture capitalists will prefer an A person who has a B idea, over a B person who has an A idea.
    • What is business?
      • Innovation
      • Marketing
      • Nothing else!
      • In other words, focus on creating customer value, and focus on ways to deliver that value to customers. Do these two things and you will become rich.
    • Knowledge gap vs action gap
      • Knowledge gap refers to the difference between what you currently know, and what you MUST know in order to perform well
      • Action gap refers to the difference between what you are currently doing, and what you MUST do on a regular basis, in order to achieve desired results
      • A teacher can help you bridge knowledge gaps, whereas a trainer/coach can help you bridge action gaps
    • Mental world vs physical world
      • The mental world, where victories are preemptively determined (hence, Sun Tzu’s comment that “every battle is won before it’s ever fought”), is not apprehensible, palpable, perceptible, therefore most people are not very good at “mental management.”
      • Yet, without means and ways of controlling what is going on in our mind, we cannot improve our thinking, hence cannot improve our lives.
      • On the other hand, most people are good at thinking in the physical world.
        • Example: I have no money in my hands, therefore I should get a job (that is, put my body in a cubicle, do what is required of me, and get my regular paycheck every week. This is the situation for all call center employees.)
    • The key to becoming rich in the New Economy is to focus, not on WORK, but on WOLF: work once, liquidate forever.
      • That is, create a product that you can easily reproduce on the Web, or that you can easily teach others to reproduce in person or on the Web
    • Bill Gates has been using that WOLF paradigm since the beginning. Microsoft hires the BEST coders, then produce something very imperfect which they offer to people, and then they keep improving it.
    • Who would be so stubborn and foolish as to argue against the richest man on Earth?
    • Common mental mistakes
      • The quality of your actions/results totally depend on the quality of your thinking. Yet, your thinking cannot be improved if you do not see what it is that you are thinking.
      • Hence, you must always write down exactly what you are thinking, and how you are thinking.
      • The first most common mental mistake of most people is to assume that they are right, whereas billionaires like Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger always ask themselves, “What if I’m wrong?”
      • Smart and rich people always have the reflex of watching and documenting what they’re thinking and HOW they come to conclusions. This is how they improve their thinking all the time, enabling them to predict, explain and control things and events better than the market or the average person
    • Common mental mistakes
      • To learn more about how society and the ruling class actually deceive you, using common psychological ploys, read the book by Robert Cialdini
      • If you are struggling financially or have to hang on to a job without a good future, or somehow you feel not quite capable of launching your own business, that is proof that you have been deceived.
    • Financial freedom
    • Like most people, you want it. You don’t want to have to work for a living.
    • But if you’re reading this presentation, it’s probable that you do not yet have financial freedom.
    • Intellectual freedom PRECEDES financial freedom.
    • People who pursue financial freedom without FIRST achieving intellectual freedom, fail.
    • Intellectual freedom comes from this powerful and liberating acronym: P.O.W.E.R.
      • Problem / pain
      • Origin
      • Willing
      • Empowerment
      • Re-invention
    • Subscribe to Real-Time Success Secrets to know what this powerful acronym means. It will liberate you and unleash your powers. (Subscription is free for a limited time only, and is $800.00 after the deadline).
    • Best authors to read for strategic enlightenment. Note: if your competitors are reading these books, and you are not, then THEY will win every single time.
      • Brian Tracy
      • Gary Hamel
      • Tom Peters
      • Peter Drucker
      • Anthony Robbins
      • Baltasar Gracian
      • Robert Greene
      • Warren Buffett
      • Wayne Dyer
      • Robert Kiyosaki
    • Art of seduction
      • There’s a book by that title. Read it, master it, and you will conquer other people’s imagination.
      • This book also shows you HOW society, ad agencies, etc. seduce you into going down the WRONG path.
    • Imagination more important
      • So many tools and resources on the Web
      • Imagination is THE limit to wealth creation
      • TIP: read all the slides by the founder of Slidehare.net (these slides available, of course, on Slideshare.net)
      • ANOTHER TIP: Learn and master RSS technology.
    • Watch your language but, more importantly, watch your thinking
      • It is not possible to watch your thinking without seeing it on paper. Which is why writing a journal is so critical to self-improvement.
      • Better yet, share your writing with friends and allies, and ask for feedback.
      • People who do not improve their thinking, will never improve their bank account.
    • Mindage refers to how far you’ve done in your thinking. It’s like the mileage of a car, except that it’s your mind’s “travel” that we are measuring. However, unlike a car’s mileage, where the more mileage, the more worn out the car, in the case of your mind, the greater the mindage, the more powerful and efficient your mind is!
    • Business is war… without the Geneva convention
      • People who succeed in business know PRECISELY what has to be done, and do it WITHOUT HESITATION.
      • An MBA is nothing without real battlefield experience.
    • Be ruthless in order to be compassionate (to yourself and to others)
      • Decide what it is you want to do, and then do it.
      • Do not let anyone stop you.
    • Your current lifestyle is programmed to benefit someone else, not you
      • Indeed there are two kinds of capitalists who control your life: the 9 to 5 capitalists, who exploit your labour, and the 5 to 9 capitalists (mostly retailers) who get you into debt by offering products and services that you don’t really need
      • By getting you into debt, they put you in a situation where you are forced to work for the 9 to 5 capitalists!
      • So there is a semi-conscious conspiracy to rob you of your daytime freedom!
      • Warren Buffett understands this, which is why his rule #1 is: Never lose money.
    • Mister Internet is EVERYBODY’S best friend, banker, business partner, investor, etc.
      • Learn to master Mister Internet and his many free applications:
        • Blogger
        • Odeo
        • Gcast
        • Geocities
        • Yahoo! Auto-response
        • Yahoo! Answers
        • Feedblitz
    • If you don’t know, you don’t know.
      • What you don’t know CAN and WILL hurt you (as well as your bank account)
      • Read as many non-fiction books as you can. Fiction is useless. TV news is fiction that looks and feels real, by virtue of the power that images have over us.
      • Neil Postman has written about this in his book Amusing Ourselves to Death , where he argues that “Entertainment is the supra-ideology of all discourse on television.” Translation: the news is just entertainment that distracts you from pursuing your goals. DISTRACTION IS DESTRUCTION.
    • If you want to stay poor, keep watching the news
    • If you want to get rich, start reading useful, practical books on business, creativity, management, psychology, etc.
    • Tim Sanders, Jim Rohn, Anthony Robbins, Brian Tracy, all the best thinkers and authors in the world, including Joseph Campbell, strongly recommend reading to empower oneself.
    • Tell me how many books you read per month, and I will tell you how far you will go in life.
    • The more books you read, the more easily you can explain, predict and control others’ behavior. (I don’t mean control in the tyrannical sense, but in the sense of making sure others’ opinions and behaviors do NOT adversely affect your own behavior and thinking).
    • The more you read, especially strategic books like Baltasar Gracian, Wayne Dyer, etc. the more you ensure that your thinking and behavior respect the laws of the universe and actually leverage those laws.
    • People who don’t read, operate in complete ignorance, that is, in darkness, and do not achieve desirable results.
    • How much time (in minutes) do you invest in becoming good, vs in looking good? How much money do you spend to look good vs being good at something worth doing?
    • Excellence in the new economy is NOT negotiable. If you are not aiming for excellence, your career then is a time bomb and will explode sooner or later.
    • Attitude beats aptitude and attribute
      • Success = (Attributes + Aptitudes) X Attitude
      • You can’t do anything about attributes, because that’s how you were born: height, weight, color of your eyes, physical strength, etc.
      • You can certainly increase the number of aptitudes
      • But it’s your attitude – your overall emotional angle or approach in life – that will have the greatest impact on how big a success you will achieve in life
    • Every second counts for the person who wants to be first
      • Every minute that you spend commuting can be used to learn something valuable by reading a non-fiction book, notes on your Palm pilot, etc.
      • If you spend one minute reading every day, and your competitors don’t, then at the end of the year, you will be 365 minutes ahead of them.
      • If you spend one hour per day reading strategic books (or www.realtimesuccesssecrets.blogspot.com ), then you will be 365 hours ahead of your competitors at the end of the year. It’s all up to you.
    • Success is the ongoing process of becoming your best self (Sally Hogshead, author of Radical Careering)
      • Jack Welch said so himself in his best-seller “Winning”: Be unique!
    • Success is not about “ME” but about “MEASURE.” You can only improve what you specifically and clearly measure. If you measure nothing everyday, you cannot possibly improve anything every day.
    • Success is not about “ME” BUT ABOUT “MEDIA.”
      • Robert Reich, in his great book The Future of Success, writes about people who provide personal attention services (call center, nurses, etc.). Although they will still have jobs because those types of services will grow in demand, they will NOT make a lot of money. That’s because their work is too “personal” and does not leverage technology or new media.
    • Read Anders Ericsson on elite performers: they take notes much more frequently and more richly that non-elite performers who just accomplish tasks according to
      • job description or
      • boss prescription
    • Use Gcast, notepads, the Palm pilot, etc. to take notes. The Jot set is the new Jet set .
    • If you have negative people in your social circle, you better take them out of your life before they take life out of you! If your family is negative, move to a different town. If your friends are negative, get new friends.
    • If you do not become ruthless about protecting the integrity of your mind and the sanctity of your positive, enthusiastic thinking, you will never become wealthy.
    • Identify the best performers among your friends and acquaintances, and commit to meeting them regularly once every two weeks to brainstorm on strategy, check progress, solve problems, share resources, exchange ideas.
    • BUSINESS: “U” comes before “I.”
      • Most entrepreneurs fail to understand that a person goes into business to serve other people, NOT:
        • To be “my own boss”
        • To have more lifestyle flexibility
        • To make lots of money (it will come naturally as a RESULT of your service to others. No service, no money! No exception!)
    • You will have everything you want in life if you give ENOUGH other people what they want in life.
      • “ ENOUGH” is the key word
      • Read Jay Abraham
      • Learn to master the RSS technology, so you can post something on a blog and thousands of subscribers can get it immediately in their email box!
      • Example at www.realtimesuccesssecrets.blogspot.com
    • “ He is not born for glory who cannot hear the footsteps of time.”
      • Here’s my technique: Before any task, I set an egg timer to 10 or 15 minutes. At the sound of the (annoying) alarm, I stop what I’m doing. Every time I use this technique, I teach myself that time is gold!
    • Read everything written by Ram Charan, especially What the CEO wants you to know .
    • Read his books over and over again until you completely master what he’s teaching. Talk about his principles with friends, allies, associates, etc.
    • To start a business, end a life
      • This is something most first-time entrepreneurs do not fully understand.
      • It means you have to abandon your old life, habits, ideas, etc. and adopt NEW warrior-like habits, ideas, thoughts, etc. in order to succeed as an entrepreneur.
      • Being an entrepreneur is not about doing things differently from an employee. You have to be a different sort of person intellectually and physically (while keeping your values, of course)
    • Read Richard Koch’s 80/20 book. He’s ex-BCG, one of the powerful consulting firms. Obviously, he’s smart. Very.
      • He destroys the notion of “time management”
      • He will teach you how to get MORE results from LESS effort/time
    • Marketing concept: the process of anticipating, identifying and satisfying profitably customer needs.
      • We all need to package ourselves like as if we were a B2B product to be sold to a corporation
      • Brian Tracy: you are the CEO of your own personal services corporation. Stop thinking in terms of “job” or “career”
    • “ Career” has the word “care” in it. If you don’t care about doing the best possible job, then you don’t really have a career
    • However, you cannot really care about your work if you cannot see the result of your work
    • Most people in office buildings are just pushing paper. Some realize this early enough, but the majority will spend their entire lives in denial and realize, often too late, that for the sake of having a job, they’ve sacrificed their lives
    • I woke up in June 2000, over six years ago. I was 31 years old. When will you wake up?
    • Fear is not something that is visible or palpable or can be felt. It is mostly an enemy in your head that prevents you from even looking in the right strategic direction. In other worlds, don’t wait for fear to show up. Seek it relentless within your psyche and memory, and vigorously uproot it. Kill it before it kills you.
    • Fear is a virus implanted in your by society, in order to control you. Fear keeps growing as you watch the news talking about disasters that you are absolutely IMPOTENT to do anything about! Fear is the normal state of mind of all citizens. Capitalism and government are leveraging the sum of all fears.
    • Do like the renowned entrepreneur Bill Gross: read magazines and extract ideas that you then list in Excel spreadsheets in order to evaluate their feasibility and compare them to one another. Which ideas are easiest for you to implement and get the highest payoff at the lowest risk?
    • Read Warren Buffett and books written about him.
    • Always read a non-fiction book with a pencil or pen in your right hand. This will compel you to write, and only by writing do you make permanent the learning from books. Without writing, whatever you learn from a book will be easily forgotten.
    • Becoming smart is not about how many books you read, but how many times you think seriously about a particular book you’ve read. Indeed, the strategic goal of reading should not be to get information or even knowledge, but to so completely reverse engineer the brain of the author that you gain from him insights and cognitive modus operandi that he did not even share in his books.
    • Especially try to reverse engineer the brain of Dr Edward de Bono, an author who became a multimillionaire by creating a systematic way of generating powerful ideas.
    • Why am I sharing valuable knowledge for free? I reckon that many users of this knowledge will become Talentelle associates, and we need to recruit leaders fast.
    • If we’re THIS helpful before we even meet you, imagine how powerful our coaching will be once we meet you and enroll you in our intensive strategic training programs!
    • Brian Tracy spent his whole learning looking for success secrets. He summarized it with the acronym S.E.C.R.E.T.S.
      • Sense of purpose
      • Effort
      • Contribution
      • Responsibility
      • Excellence
      • Time management (20/80)
      • Self-development (investments)
    • You’ve only learned from a book IF and only IF you can lecture on it for 30 minutes
      • This is why it’s much better to read a book five times, than to read five books
      • Bruce Lee put it this way: “I am not afraid of a man who knows 10,000 kicks, but the man who practiced one kick 10,000 times.”
      • Mastery is power
    • Knowledge management is an impotent concept. Rather, strive to learn “knowledge mastery.” The best way to master knowledge, is to teach it again and again and again and again, and to practice it even more often.
    • It’s not WHO you know, but WHAT you practice, and HOW you practice
      • If you are truly excellent at what you do, the world will come to your door. If not, people will forget your name the minute you spell it out to them. Why should they remember someone who has not spent time developing his/her uniqueness and special talent?
    • If you cannot distribute yourself over the Internet, you will remain poor over the next ten years, while your friends might get richer and richer by engaging in what I call me-commerce
      • Use Blogger, Odeo, Gcast, Slideshare.net, geocities, Feedblitz, etc.
