Amen.
  • Bearing the hurt of other people without retaliation is, without adoubt, the MOST IMPORTANT AND THE MOST DIFFICULT STEP IN BECOMING LIKE JESUS CHRIST because it often involves being misunderstood.
  • TRESPASSED―missed the mark‖ of your boundaries
  • Jesus was… misunderstood hurt misjudged abused
  • On the cross, he not only carried our sins but also ENDUREDENORMOUS ABUSE FROM THE PEOPLE WHO WERE RIGHT THERE…MOST OF WHOM HE HEALED AND FED.
  • Matthew 27:39- 44 His response:―Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.‖
  • 1 Peter 2:23They called Him every name in the book and He SAID NOTHING BACK.
  •  He shut up He suffered silencewith His intent to let Godset things right He yielded His right toget even
  • But HE had opportunity to tell them who He is and defend Himself a bit.
  •  He absorbed the hurt He put up with the pain He responded to evilwith good
  • TRUTH:In life, you are going to be hurt—whether INTENTIONALLY or intentionally unintentionally! UNINTENTIONALLY!
  • YOU CAN ONLY LEARN TO FORGIVE WHEN SOMEBODY HAS HURT YOU.
  • Tips: 1) Remember that God hasFORGIVEN me. (Ephesians 4:32) forgivenGod will never ask you to forgive anybody more than you have already been forgiven by Him.
  • Tips: 2) God is in control. …. CONTROL.He will use it for the good of your life.
  • Joseph the Dreamer siblings disliked him sold him into slavery falsely accused of rape thrown into prison 40 years of his life went down, down, down.
  • YET, HE MAINTAINED A FORGIVING SPIRIT.
  • Memory Verse Genesis 50:20―You meant to hurt me, but God turned your evil into good to save the lives of many people, which is being done.‖
  • We are more like beasts when we kill, more like men when we judge; more like God when we forgive. – William Ward
  • GETHSEMANE – experience of trouble (trust) DESERT– experience of temptation (obey) CROSS– experience of trespass (forgive)
  • Romans 8:17Now if we are children, then weare heirs—heirs of God and co- heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
  • Philippians 2:5 In your relationships with oneanother, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.
  • Conclusion This is spiritual maturity. Yourgreatest testimony as a believeris how you handle hurt. Do yourespond like Jesus did? Do you suffer in order to save others?
  • Reflection 1) Have you talked and released forgiveness to those who have hurt you?2) Have you apologized to the person whom you have hurt?
  • Action Are you hurting now?Are you planning to retaliate? Have a spiritual partner pray with you about this.
