The ears are small and hairless.
Their eyes are large brown and a little red.
Their body’s are soft and fluffy.

Grass is important to their diet.
They also eat seeds as food.
Some species of Kangaroo rats eat green
vegetation and insects.

These mammals have powerful hind legs
Their hind legs are use to protect themselves
from rattle snake
It is also use to hop and dig burrows.

If a place has no water, Kangaroo rats carry
extra water.
