    • MAGLEV TRAINA few countries are using powerfulelectromagnets to develop high-speed trains,called MAGLEV TRAINS. Maglev is short forMAGNETIC LEVITATION, which means that thesetrains will float over a guideway using the basicprinciples of magnets to replace the old steelwheel and track trains.INTRO HISTORY PRINCIPLE WORKING
    •  The first commercial Maglev "people-mover" was officially opened in 1984 in Birmingham, England.  It operated between Birmingham International Airport and Birmingham International railway station.  It ran at 42 km/h (26 mph) .  But the system was eventually closed in 1995 due to reliability and design problems.INTRO HISTORY PRINCIPLE WORKING
