    The musical first opened in the West End in 1981 and then on Broadway in 1982.
    It was showed about 18 years, has been translated into more than 20 languages.
    In 1998, it was made into video, it has been boardcast on television.
  • 3. The story
    There are an event that cats called Jelicle get together. They sing a song and dance. Cats want to be chosen from the oldest cat. If they are chosen, they will go to heaven. They show their special thing.
    At that time, the oldest cat come into stage. They enjoy their party. Protagonist-the old woman-want to with them, but they refuse. She begin to sing the ‘memory’.
    Cats feel sympathy. They bring her to their festival place. At last, she is chosen as jelicle cat.

    Her name isGrizabella.(Elaine Paige)
    Grizabella is the "Glamour Cat" in the musical production Cats.
